Disregard what I said before and follow these new steps...
OFFICE 2002 and OFFICE 2003

This is the Solution to the .. Changes have been made that affect the global template, nomarl.dot. Do you want to save those changes? question..

1) Go to Microsoft Office folder in program files. Open the Office10 or Office11 folder. Copy the normal.dot file with in this folder

2) Make sure to make hidden files unhidden

3) Next go to documents and settings on the c drive. Click on default user, copy the normal.dot file into the : C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

4) Next copy the normal.dot file to the: C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

5) Reboot the computer into safe mode.

6) Go to the Microsoft Office directory where the normal.dot file was located and delete it.

7) Reboot the computer normally and you should be fine. Some much for that stupid Error everytime!!!

***************************************************
Here are a few simple ways to get around the headache of this message popping up everytime... GRRRRR.

1) If you are in aDomain enviroment, go to the progrmafiles directory and local microsoft office. Right click on it and go to properties. Under the securities tab, add "Authenticated Users" and/or "Everyone" with rights to modify. This allows the normal.dot template to do what what is has to do when Word is shutting down. Reboot the computer for this to work.

2) Go to TOOLS, MACROS, and Security and MOdify the security level to be High. On the "Trusted Sources" uncheck all boxes and Remove all the sources in the box. Restart word, and see is it works.

3) Final Solution... Install openoffice, forget this conversation.....
